Last night I went to a Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas concert at One Longfellow Square. It was absolutely amazing! They played several tunes and sets from their newest album. They also played some tunes from Spain and Galatia. Alasdair also talked about some musical history on the fiddle which I thought was both very interesting and humorous. :P He also played a fiddle that was made with wood from the old dining hall at his fiddle camp in California. For the last couple of songs they had a keyboardist play along with them. It was really a great concert. Quite a few people from the audience were getting really into the music. That or they went to the bar one too many times. Or perhaps a combination of the two. :) The other extreme of this was my dad who said he fell asleep during the second half. Oh, well....
Next month, I am hoping to see another concert there: The Battlefield Band. This one looks really amazing as well. The concert hall was not very big, so it will be really interesting to see how the Highland pipes will sound in there!
